ZW Youth Convergence Speakers

Tentative ZWYC Speakers (as of 2/24/13)                            Program      Flyer     Registration

Keynote Speakers:
Beth Terry, Author of Plastic-Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too, founder/organizer of the Take Back The Filter campaign, and founding member of the Plastic Pollution Coalition. Like many people, Beth Terry didn’t think an individual could have much impact on the environment. But while laid up after surgery five years ago, she read an article about the staggering amount of plastic polluting the oceans and decided then and there to kick her plastic habit. In her quirky and humorous style—well known to the readers of her popular blog, My Plastic-Free Life—Terry will provide personal anecdotes, info about the environmental and health problems related to plastic and personal solutions and tips on how to limit your plastic footprint.

Dr. Kevin Danaher, Executive Director of Friends of SF Environment, the non-profit arm of the San Francisco Department of Environment. He is a co-founder of Global Exchange (1988), co-founder of FairTradeUSA (1997), founder and Executive Co-Producer of the Green Festivals (2001). Dr. Danaher has published numerous articles and is the author and/or editor of thirteen books, including his two latest: The Green Festival Reader: Fresh ideas from Agents of Change and Building the Green Economy: Success Stories from the Grass Roots.
