Since 1976 NCRA has been an association of people, mostly in the Bay Area of California, who question the dominant garbage-as-usual paradigm and who have worked diligently and cooperatively to provide facilities, systems, and concepts that allow the eight million people in our area to have maximum opportunities to divert all materials from landfills and incinerators and back into the stream of
NCRA has several committees that members can participate in. These committees advocate for Zero Waste, schedule tours, provides education and outreach, and manage the logistics and newsletter.
Since 1994 and usually offered in March and September, Introduction to Recycling provides a great background for a career in the field. Introducing trade terms, history, law, practice, current issues and many of the technical problems the recycling industry faces, this course is a must have.
