NCRA Board Meeting

May 2008 TOUR (scroll down for the June Meeting & Tour info)

Please join us for a tour of the new Fremont Transfer Station before our May meeting.
Tour time: 3:30PM – 5:00PM
Location: 41149 Boyce Road, Fremont

Please plan to meet at the transfer station, and RSVP to Janice.sitton (at) yahoo.com to let us know you can attend.

A one hour break between the tour and meeting will allow time for dinner (on your own).

Plenty of dining choices are available at the Pacific Commons, which is a large retail plaza located close to the transfer station.
The NCRA meeting will be held in the Development Services Center in the Niles Conference Room in Fremont, CA at 39550 Liberty St, Fremont.

Board of Directors Meeting

Location:  Fremont Development Services Center at 39550 Liberty St, Fremont. Niles Conference Room, 1st Floor

I.   Call to order and introduction of the 2008 Board of Directors.  Arthur Boone, Paul Ledesma, Justin Lehrer, Janice Sitton, Chris Sparks, David Tam, David Toy, Mary Lou Van Deventer 

II.   Minutes of March & April 2008 meeting.  (10 min)  

III.  Agenda.  Amend and approve.  (5 min)

IV.  Thanks to Fremont for hosting us!  (15 min)  Lori Marra, Environmental Specialist for the City of Fremont, will share information about Fremont’s current programs.

V.   Sharing.  (45 min)  Job announcements come first, job seekers second, then all attendees are invited to share their company or community news for up to 2 minutes each, with no (or little) cross-talk to keep the meeting moving. 

VI.  Action reports.  (45 min)  Committee chairs will discuss their activities and issues.  Any committee’s issues may be acted on.  Member Involvement - Zero Waste Infrastructure - Enterprise Support Services - Public Education - Response Team - Legislation and Policy - Communication - Administration - Fundraising - Show/Players

VII.  Potential Membership Dues Increase.  (30 minutes)  Board will continue the discussion started in the April meeting regarding the proposed increase to membership dues in 2008 in relation to overall financial needs for 2008.

June Tours & Meeting in Napa

Join us for some fabulous tours and our monthly meeting on June 19. Starting at 3pm, we will:

Take a tour of eco-Organize, Napa Valley’s landfill diversion specialist and the eighth Napa Valley business to acquire Green Business Certification.  The main focus of eco-Organize is diverting items from our landfills via distribution routes such as reuse, repurpose, recycling, donations, and sales with the main goal of redistribution within our community. 

Visit a green winery or bottling plant, which will include a tasting of some local wines (actual location TBD – check the June News for final details)

Tour the Napa Recycling & Composting Facility, and the new Mixed C&D processing line at the Devlin Road Transfer Station.

Enjoy dinner together – bring some finger foods to share!
